The Nikon AF600 is a 28mm wide-angle ultra-compact camera which was released in 1993. At its time it was the smallest and the lightest AF/AE camera.

This camera is easy to use, push the on/off button, the cover opens and it's ready. Autofocus is responsive and works well. Putting a film is easy as well, you drop the film, tear the film leader up to the mark and that's it. The camera winds it automatically. It has few manual settings if needed, the menu is very easy to access on an LCD screen. The auto flash setting at start, which is the case with most ultra compacts.
It's a basic point and shoot camera with a good wide-angle lens, good picture quality, in a very small pocketable body. Point and shoot at its simplest while good quality end.

The Nikon AF600 is a autofocus, auto-exposure, compact camera for 35mm film, introduced by Nikon in 1993. It is also known as the Lite•Touch AF. A QD (quartz date) version was available for date imprinting.
At the time of its introduction, the AF600 was the world's smallest and lightest AF/AE camera.. It features a 28mm f/3.5 fixed wide-angle lens made from 3 elements in 3 groups. The lens has an aperture range of f/16 to f/3.5 with a focus distance is from 0.35m to inf. The lens has a cover that open and closes automatically when retracting or extending the lens during power cycling. It offers a panorama mode which basically captures the image at 12.3 x 36 mm instead of 24 x 36 mm. The self-timer has a two shot mode, which takes a second picture ten seconds after the first.
It's compatible with DX encoded films at 100, 200, 400 and 1000 ISO. Non-coded film are set at 100 ISO. 25, 32, 40, 125 and 160 ISO films are set to 100 ISO. 50, 40, 80, 250 and 320 are set to 200 ISO. 500, 640, 1600, 2000 and 2500 ISO films are set to 400 ISO. 800, 1250 and 3200 are set to ISO 1000.
